Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC)/Non-District Appointment

• Term: Two (2) years from the date of appointment

• Meeting Schedule: Second Thursday of every other month at 4:00 p.m.

• Location: Old Courthouse, LCPC Conference Room, Hinesville, Georgia

The Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) advises the Policy Committee on matters of public opinion from individual citizens and citizen groups regarding planned changes to the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), and related transportation studies and recommendations.

Individuals interested in being considered for this appointment must complete a Petition for Board Appointment form. Forms may be obtained from the Long County Board of Commissioners Office, located at 468 S. McDonald Street, Ludowici, Georgia, Monday through Thursday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or downloaded from the county website at longcountyga.gov.

Firefighter

The Long County Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Firefighter.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, valid Georgia Class E driver’s license, and possess Firefighter I Certification. Applicants must pass a background check, drug screening, and submit a Motor Vehicle Report for the last 3 years.

Long County Elections Office – Long County, Georgia

The Long County Elections Office is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual for a Seasonal Election Clerk position. This temporary position will assist the Elections Office with clerical and administrative duties related to upcoming elections.

• Assist voters in person and by telephone in a courteous and professional manner

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate voter and election records

• Assist with voter registration and election-related paperwork

• Organize, file, scan, and prepare documents

• Prepare election materials and supplies

• Provide support before, during, and after elections

• Maintain confidentiality and follow all election procedures and applicable laws

• Perform other election-related duties as assigned

Code Enforcement Inspector | Long County Code Enforcement

The Long County Board of Commissioners is currently accepting applications for the position of Code Enforcement Inspector with the Long County Code Enforcement.

This position performs field inspections and investigative work to ensure compliance with County codes and ordinances. Duties include conducting inspections, investigating citizen complaints, identifying and documenting violations, performing follow-up inspections, communicating with property owners and contractors regarding compliance, and assisting with other Code Enforcement duties as assigned.

Applicants must be able to perform physically demanding work in varying outdoor conditions. Related experience is preferred. A valid Georgia driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one, is required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening and background check. Applicants must also provide a three-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

JOINT LONG COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPOINTMENTS

 The Long County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in serving on the Joint Long County Economic Development Authority Board of Directors.

 The Authority plays an important role in promoting economic development, supporting business growth, encouraging investment, and strengthening the economic future of Long County and the City of Ludowici.

 AVAILABLE POSITIONS

 The Board of Directors will include:

·        Two (2) County Seats - Applicants must be residents of the unincorporated area of Long County.

·        Two (2) City Seats - Applicants must be residents of the City of Ludowici.

Applicants should demonstrate an interest in economic development and a willingness to actively participate in the work and responsibilities of the Authority.

TERMS OF SERVICE AND COMPENSATION

Appointments to the Joint Long County Economic Development Authority Board of Directors will be for terms ranging from two (2) to four (4) years, depending on the seat being filled.

Service on the Board of Directors is voluntary and unpaid. Board members will receive no compensation for their service and are expected to actively participate in meetings and the work of the Authority.

APPRAISER / APPRAISER TRAINEE
LONG COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR’S OFFICE

Long County is accepting applications for a full-time Appraiser/Appraiser Trainee position with the Long County Tax Assessor’s Office.

The position is responsible for appraising real and personal property to determine fair market value for ad valorem tax purposes. Duties include both field and office work, working with property owners and the public, preparing and presenting information, and attending professional training and certification classes.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, computer skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and good math skills. Applicants must have or be willing and able to obtain the required Georgia Department of Revenue Appraiser designations.
