NOTICE FOR CLOSED BID
Long County Recreation Department – Concession Stand Renovation
The Long County Recreation Department is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids for the remodeling and renovation of the existing concession stand at the Long County Recreation Department. The anticipated project schedule is expected to begin in December 2026 and be completed by late February or early March 2027.
Contractors interested in competing for this project should contact the Long County Recreation Department or County Manager for additional information, project specifications, and bid requirements.
The Long County Board of Commissioners will accept bids until Monday, November 2, 2026. All bids must be submitted in accordance with the requirements provided by Long County.

COUNTYWIDE TRAFFIC STUDY AND SPEED LIMIT ASSESSMENT
The Long County Board of Commissioners is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified engineering firms and transportation consultants to conduct a comprehensive Countywide Traffic Study and Speed Limit Assessment for Long County, Georgia.
SCOPE OF WORK
The purpose of this study is to evaluate existing traffic conditions, roadway safety, and posted speed limits throughout Long County. The selected firm shall provide a comprehensive assessment of all county-maintained roads, including but not limited to:
Evaluation of current traffic patterns, volumes, and roadway conditions.
Assessment of existing posted speed limits and recommendations for appropriate speed limit adjustments.
Identification of roadway safety concerns and areas requiring traffic control improvements.
Development of updated speed limit recommendations and supporting documentation for use by the Long County Sheriff's Office.
Preparation of a comprehensive final report outlining findings, recommendations, and proposed traffic safety improvements.
All studies and recommendations shall comply with applicable Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) standards and state regulations.
PROPOSAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Monday, November 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM
All proposals must be received by the Long County Board of Commissioners no later than the stated deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
ANTICIPATED CONTRACT AWARD
Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM
The Long County Board of Commissioners anticipates considering and awarding the contract during its scheduled meeting on November 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive minor informalities, and select the proposal determined to be in the best interest of Long County, Georgia, in accordance with applicable procurement requirements.
