Local Wildlife Management Areas
Griffin Ridge WMA
Griffin Ridge Wildlife Management Area is located in Long County. This 5,600-acre property provides hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, and alligator. No ATVs or horses are allowed on the property and vehicular access is limited to the designated parking areas. Camping allowed only at Fountain Hole Camping Area.
Townsend WMA
Townsend Wildlife Management Area is located in Long and McIntosh counties. The property offers deer, turkey, small game and waterfowl hunting. Townsend WMA is made up of four tracts of land: North Townsend, South Townsend, Buck Island, and Pine Island Tract. Together, they comprise 32,000 acres of land on the north side of the Altamaha River between Route 301 and the city of Darien.
Morgan Lake WMA
Morgan Lake Wildlife Management Area is located in Long County. This 1,117-acre property has archery hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game.
